TESTIMONIALS

When I first heard about Jen’s Phat Camp, I was very excited because I wanted to know how “The Pro’s” do it. I am 42 years old, have competed in two bodybuilding shows and have the experience of dieting for a show. What I needed to learn was how to eat “after” a show. I gained 20 pounds after my second show in 2005 and am still carrying that extra weight around. I had a hard time structuring my sweet tooth and yo-yo’d my diet. What I found at Phat Camp was very real, honest people that shared so much of their advice and personal experiences. I learned that “even the Pro’s” struggle with weight gain and they are human just like me and struggle with the same day to day problems that I do. I came home from Phat camp a new and revived person. I am so motivated and armed with new workouts and ideas. I want to thank Jen, Heather, Michele, Tammy and Betsy for all you do to make this camp work, because it is SO WORTH IT!!! I am so happy to have been a part of Phat Camp NY ’06. I will be back next year to get another dose of adrenaline…because that’s what you did for me.

Jen, you are the woman! I had such a great time at Phat Camp. When I enrolled, I had no idea what to expect. It is several days later and I’m still absorbing all that occurred. What a blast! I had more fun than I could have ever imagined. I watched women push their own limits to improve themselves and it was so motivating. It is amazing that a group of women who did not know one another at 5 p.m. one day, became friends and supporters by 5 p.m. the next day. Thanks for such a great weekend. I cannot wait until next year.

This past weekend was so motivating for me. I do not plan on ever competing but I have been working out for over 20 years. I really needed some ideas on mixing up my workouts since I tend to do basically the same exercises over and over. Because of this is obviously the reason I have not been able to change my body the way I would like. I have also been in an emotional rut turning 40 this past June. You know, when you look in the mirror and can find a 100 things that were not there just a year ago. I am going to ATTEMPT to stop doing that . I have been spending so much energy on something that can not be changed. What a waste to time!!! YOLO!!

Jen exudes such positive energy which inevitably you absorb while at camp. I left there on Sunday with a much brighter outlook. I cannot wait to incorporate this new training style to my workouts. She is so funny, down to earth and honest. It is obvious she truly enjoys what she does and wants to help everyone in the room. I would also like to say that Jen's support team Michele, Heather, Betsy and Tammy were awesome. I want to thank them all. (kick ass Michele and Heather at your upcoming shows!).

I enjoyed meeting all the women who attended. Everyone worked so hard and had such a great time. I loved hearing all theirstories and why they were there. I wish each of you all the best and hope you all reach your goals. Thank you Jen for inspiring all of us. I am so looking forward to returning to camp next year. Good luck at the Olympia!!!!
Love and thanks,

I cannot thank you enough your guidance, inspiration, and time. I have come back from the Chicago Phat Camp renewed and inspired. I have been struggling for several months to find my path and it was through your camp that I have once again found my way.

I feel the need to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I have a tendency to be quite standoffish, and many misinterpret that as arrogance, defiance, or that I'm simply as dull as a butter knife. I assure you none of these are true! LOL... I guess I just wanted to make sure that while I wasn't all sunshine and teddy bears on the outside, on the inside I was as giddy as a school girl that's just been kissed! :)

I can also honestly say that I have gained more knowledge in the 2 1/2 days I spent at your camp than I have in the previous 8 months spent talking to trainers, reading books and magazines, and surfing the Internet. After losing nearly 100 pounds, my health is my priority. You have given me the tools to confidently say I will never be a fat girl again AND I know that I can only get better and better using the information you have provided. My personal goal is to send you 3 pictures two months from now... the first from when I was 240 lbs, the second picture would be me as I am today, and the third will be me after applying everything you have taught me. (My friends call me "Hercules" now... I wonder what they're gonna call me when I actually know what the hell I'm doing! :)

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I have to date, lost 20 lbs, believe me it is a shock as well as a motivator for me to continue what I'm doing, but just step it up a tad. Let me give you the low down on what I've been doing. Since my return from camp, I made a pledge to my brother that I would ride my bicycle from my house to work and you better believe I am getting closer to accomplishing this. From my home to work it's about 5 miles and this is one goal I plan to see through to completion. I have to say since attending the Phat Camp, I have become a new person. Just yesterday, someone commented on how my disposition, attitude and over-all outlook has changed for the better.

I would like to thank you for the chance and opportunity to get to know you. For I have admired you from a far -- for so long. It is so refreshing to know that the person that I have admired for so long is just as warm and receptive to me. Jen, God is continuing to bestow blessings upon you so that his divine plan for your life is received by all. He is making it possible for you to do the thing you love most to reach, teach, inspire and motivate women all over the world.

I hope that I will be able to attend the Phat Camp in New York in August. In case that doesn't not happen, hopefully I'll see you at another location this year. You can bet I will definitely attend camp next year. Jen, I love you and thanks for being a friend, teacher, motivator and an in your face sister. Jen, I think I'm ready for another meal plan from you in about 2 months.

God Bless,
Audrey

Wow - you have made the biggest impact on "me" - I am a new "me" and am loving life because of it!!!!

It is a great reward when you get back from holidays as I have just done and people say "what did you get up to on holidays because you look awesome!"

I read the tips fom a Pro which you gave us every day because what you have on there is my focus on life - it is "me" and "me" only who can change what I do and how I look, avoid the negative people in your life, dream big........ I could just keep going!

I went to camp hoping that I could break old habits and start a fresh with my training, diet and life - well what a hope - I dreamt and my dream came true. Old habits are gone, my training is better than it has ever been and my diet is going strong!

If you remember I wrote on the back of my quiz that the lolly aisle in the shops was a huge problem for me. I kept thinking it was someone else creating issues in my life that sent me there - but it is me going there. I have realised it is 'me" who controls "me" - so I have gained the control and I can walk down the aisle and just keep going because I have become such a stronger person through PHAT camp!

You have such a talent to help and provide information to people to apply to their own situation. You share such love and warmth to the people around you and although this may not be portrayerd in an out there fashion - I really picked up on it and I am deeply grateful for this.

I am loving going to the gym again, before camp I was finding training a chore rather than an interest - now i cant wait to get there and get down and sweat it out and have a workout like it is my last! People in the gym are fascinated by the pop squats but oh no they do not interupt me because they can see i am focused and from your suggestion the head set is on and I can not hear any distractions.

I am really hoping to have a holiday to the United States before next years PHAT camp so will keep in touch and if we are close by I will try and call by so you can see my transformation! Or maybe i can even send some pics along the way (mind you pics can not truely show the mind set changes)!! Iam even thinking about competing later in the year! This came from seeing Heather - she looks fantastic and I think if she can do it there is no reason why I cant also have a go!

I hope you are having or have had a safe trip home to Brian and your family and friends. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart. I am not a strict spiritual person but i really think that PHAT camp for me was exctly what my mind, body and soul needed to restart my love of fitness and really go somehwere with that! Thank you and God Bless!

All my love and best wishes for you

Maryanne XOX

PS My husband was so proud of me and my new focus that he took me to Tiffanys in Sydney and bought me a beautiful necklace. He also thanks you for helping me so much!

Congratulations at the Arnold. I hope you realize that it doesn't matter what you placed, to me you will forever be #1 in my HEART. Before I give you my address, I just wanted to let you in on my progress. Everything is SUPERB!! As far as my meal plan and exercise goes, I am doing great. Since starting the meal plan and exercise regimen, I feel as if the weight of past transgressions and burdens (that I didn't really know I STILL harbored) have been lifted from me. I guess what I am trying to say, is that, I have been in denial about a lot of things in my life regarding past relationships, my self-worth, past hurts, inability to forgive completely, insecurity, inability to trust, unfulfilled hopes/dreams and etc. etc. etc. I tell you, I now feel as if I were the walking advertisement for negativity. That was until I met you and all the wonderful people in your circle and all the Phat Campers in Atlanta.

I just wanted you to know that you saved my life, even when I didn't know that I needed saving. A lot of times we are so focused on the insignificant things, until we neglect the most important ones. That is what I've done. I didn't know, how out of touch I was until I met you and everyone associated with Phat Camp. I have always heard that people are brought into your life for a reason, it may not be for many seasons but their presence is Gods divine purpose for your life. I truly believe that you were placed in my life at this exact time to motivated, encourage, uplift and inspire me to become what God has destined me to be. And for this Jen, I thank you and I love you from the bottom of my heart.

Like my mother always says, "Give me my flowers, while I can still smell them" for tomorrow is not promised to any of us. So here are a million flowers from me to you, they are just a small token of what your presence in my life has meant. Jen, you are the fire beneath this rusty pot. You keep me focused and determine to be the best that I can be. You have inspired me to seek out and conquer any and everything in life. You are an inspiration to me and I hope to pass it on. Even though our meeting and chat session were brief, the outcome of that meeting and chat session is PRICELESS.

Meeting Jenny Hendershott has been my dream for many years and when I saw her I was in 7th Heaven.

I attended Phat Camp February 2005. I can’t say enough about the weekend. It was truly an amazing experience and I will cherish it forever. I worked my butt off and enjoyed every aching muscle. I thought I was fit until Jenny showed me otherwise. She is a beautiful person and her staff, Terri, Heather and Jen are extremely caring and professional people. I would recommend this camp to every woman who needs someone or something in their life. You will not regret one moment.

I first became aware of Jenny and her Phat camps as my work sponsored her first camps outside of the USA. But when I had the opportunity to meet her, I was blown away by her! She was so positive and awe-inspiring, so when the opportunity came to host a camp in Melbourne, I jumped on board. Looking forward to seeing Jen again in 2006 - so come on Melbourne, let's get PHAT!

Donna Jones

My name is Donna Jones and I am Jen’s camp host on the Gold Coast in Australia. My husband, Matt and myself also co-ordinate the New Zealand and other Australian PHAT Camps.

How I got involved with all of this is was quite by accident but possibly the best accident that has ever happened to me. I have been competing as a fitness athlete since its inception in about 1995. Before this I competed as a bodybuilder then figure competitor because that’s all there was when I first started in 1991. In 2004 I turned pro and headed to the states for my first show, wow what an eye opener, straight from the top of the heap in Australia to the bottom in one swift movement. It was about the end of 2004 when I said to Matt, "If I’m going to spend all this money competing then I want to work with the best there is." It was then that I shot off an e-mail to Jen asking if I could pay for her time to help me with my routine when I next traveled over to the U.S.A. An unexpected response came within a day. (I had previously emailed other pro’s for advice and a standardized reply came back some 6 months later.) Jen told me that she was working with another Australian lady in Sydney to try and bring her PHAT Camps to Australia and would I be interested in being apart of that and perhaps we could hold one on the Gold Coast. I only had to think for about 30 seconds before shooting off an email with an emphatic YES.

The following months were chaotic. I read up on the camps and went for it not really having any idea what to expect as the Gold Coast was the 1st camp outside the USA and Canada. Let me say it exceeded all of my expectations and then some. Jen is one of the most talented, generous and giving individuals I have met, who touched the lives of everyone she met.

During the camp I met a group of enthusiastic, like minded women from all over Queensland. We had women wanting to come from as far away as Cairns (About 2000km away). There were seasoned bodybuilders, women interested in competing for the first time, and women who had never stepped inside a commercial gym. The whole weekend was inspiring and filled me with a sense of renewed motivation to train hard and be the best that I could be. Each camper had different goals and reasons for being there and I think I can say that each and every person took away with them something from Jen that adds to their lives. So much so that at least one third of the campers are wanting to come again in 2006.

Whilst Jen was in Australia I not only became a camp host but I gained a life long friend. Jen offered her home to me when I traveled to the states to compete in September 2005 and its at her house that I am now sitting to write this testimonial. She has welcomed me with open arms as if she has known me for years. For the past 4 weeks I have trained, dieted and run around like a mad woman with Jen. As I sat watching her practice her Olympia routine I had to pinch myself to make sure that I wasn’t dreaming. I dropped Jen off at the airport yesterday and she said to me, " Now you’ve got my car, my house and my kids (cats, Hopey &Jack) will you be ok?" "Um , yes I think so"

Jen is a ball of energy and an inspiration with so much to give. If there is one thing I would recommend it’s to go to a camp and see for yourself. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

I first met Jen in March of 2003. I had a goal to loose weight before my October 2003 wedding. Now, when I set a goal, I make sure I reach it:) I had always worked out and read numerous fitness magazines. I was at a plateau and needed help. I had been reading about Jen in the magazines for awhile. My fiance, at the time, told me to e-mail her and ask for a one-on-one training. I told him he was "crazy". She didn't have time for a "nobody", like me. He said the worst thing she can do is say NO. So, I e-mailed her and within 1 day she had replied back. I was on my way to Columbus, Ohio. I was so nervous to meet her. The entire time I was driving up there, I kept thinking to my self "what have I gotten myself into now". I'm actually still saying that:) I arrived at the gym a few minutes early. The gentleman at the front desk said she was running a little late. I'll never forget when she walked through those gym doors-my heart was racing. She welcomed me with open arms like we were long lost friends. We hit it right off. I trained with her all day. I had discovered that my form "sucked". It's hard trying to read something in a magazine and try to do it correctly. I'm the type that needs someone to show me, hands-on. I remember, I went back to my hotel and called my husband. I told him I was staying another day for more! I explained to him how down to earth she was and helpful. I had learned more from her in those 2 days than I had in 5 years of reading magazines. I left Columbus motivated and with a new diet and training session in hand. She wanted to see me in 5-6 months. I was in a severe boating accident that summer and unable to visit her. I knew I had to follow the diet and training if I wanted to reach my goal.

On my wedding day, I was 35 pounds lighter than the first day I met Jen. I looked the best ever. My husband was very proud. In December I took a friend to train with Jen. During the training I asked her if she thought I could ever compete. She replied, "I'll give you a diet and we'll see". In the meantime, Jen had talked to me about hosting a Cincinnati Phat Camp - so I did, then she asked me to co-host the Arnold Classic Fashion Show - so I did. By March of 2004 I had hosted my first Phat Camp, co-hosted the Arnold Classic Fashion Show and competed in 3 Figure competitions. All of these events turned out very successful. I then began "somehow" to take over coordinating all of the Phat Camps. I was then ready to compete in the Fall of 04. I got my diet and started training. I was 4 weeks out from my show and I quit loosing weight. I called Jen in a panic. I was tired, didn't want to eat and felt like crap. She told me to go to the doctor, so I did. I was 11 weeks pregnant. The weighted packed on, a whole 58 pounds to be exact. I then made another goal to myself that I would compete in the Fall of 05 after having my baby girl. During my entire pregnancy I helped organize an Australian Phat Camp. That was great motivation for me. My husband and I spent 2 weeks in Australia while our Izabella was only 2 months old and at home with Grandma. While I was in Australia I promised everyone that I was going to loose this baby weight. I was disgusted with myself. The following week after getting back from Australia I had the Florida Phat Camp. I then became more disgusted with my appearance. On July 5th Jen gave me another diet and its now September 15 and I'm the smallest I've ever been.

Most importantly you must know that since the birth of my baby in April till right now September 05, I have lost 57 pounds total. I'm currently 3 weeks from my first post-baby competition. I owe all of my success to Jenny Hendershott. I couldn't of done it w/out her motivation, confidence, trust and knowledge. I currently went to working part-time at my veterinary technician job and assisting Jenny the rest of the time. I also am a nail technician, mom and wife. If I hadn't met Jen, I have no idea what I would be doing today or what I would look like. She has become one of my best friends. Now I am here to help you meet Jen and we will help you make your dreams a reality.

WOW !! Is all I can say after meeting Jen Hendershott !! I attended my first Phat Camp in Buffalo, NY in 2003….as the longest traveler from Florida – this experience was a blessing in disguise ! My first Phat Camp experience was Jacksonville, FL 2004. I was seeking info on how to compete and who else better than Jen Hendershott? I went to camp and not only got all my questions answered, but made friends I still keep in contact with.

I have been to 4 camps since then, one of which I hosted, Greensboro, NC in 2005! I moved to Jacksonville, FL 5 months ago. I was married to Matt Hendrick, 1 month ago and I have 2 months until I will compete again on National stage! So it has been a packed year! I currently work as the Fitness Director of a YMCA. You can find out more about me at www.lishiadean.com. I can't wait to meet you all!

I think Jen's PHAT Camp will be great for New Zealand. Thanks Jen for coming!

I am Terri Abraham from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am 33 years old. I work full time as an engineer for a pipeline company, my husband and I own nutritional supplement stores (Popeye's Calgary) and I compete in Fitness.

How did I get involved in Phat Camp?

I turned 30 - and the rest was meant to be...
When I turned 30 a lot of people I knew had set goals - running a marathon, competing in a triathlon, getting in shape, etc. I had always watched fitness competitions on TV and thought to myself - I think I could do that. January of 2003 I started searching on the internet for resources to get more information. One of the first searches came back with Jenny H's website and her "Fit Camp" that was to be held in Calgary, Alberta. I e-mailed Jenny H and Jen Stell - amazing inspirational host of the first 3 Phat Camps in Calgary! - and was encouraged to register for camp even though I wasn't a competitor and didn't really work out seriously. I remember feeling VERY intimidated the day I headed off to go to the gym. What an amazing experience - Jen was so down to earth and encouraging. I also met so many girls from the local community that have provided great support during and after the camp.

What was even more incredible is that I e-mailed Jenny during that next year - and she remembered me! I swear she remembers every Phat Camper from every camp. She takes a personal interest in each participant to understand who they are and what they are trying to achieve.

I have been to every camp in Calgary - 2003, 2004 and 2005 and I am honored to be hosting 2006! I tell people that going to this camp in 2003 changed my life - and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I have achieved what I didn't think was possible and I know if I set my mind to it, I can achieve anything! And so can you!

Betsy McNally Harris

I have been a gym rat since age 3 when my parents enrolled me in gymnastics. I went on to train four hours a day, six days a week for most of my childhood and teenage years, traveling all over America for international competitions and meets. When I reached adulthood, I longed to get back into competition. After teaching high school for six years I decided to teach people about fitness. As I began training and working in a gym my body achieved levels of fitness I never believed possible. I was working out everyday for sometimes three hours. I was exercising obsessively and decided to compete in fitness. Living in Columbus, I decided to give Jenny H. a call since she was well known to be the best in the business. Boy was I in for something! I have met quite a few people in the industry, but Jen is something special. She is the real deal and she changed my life.

Jenny is an expert on diet, training and choreography. Her athletic accomplishments speak for themselves! Despite her athletic achievements, I actually learned more about life from Jen than anything else. She showed me that through her own accomplishments it is possible to be ultra-fit and still have a life. I was struggling with finding balance between my obsessive exercising, my marriage and my career. She helped me understand that what I was doing to my body was not healthy--mentally or physically. She was right! I was burned out. Jen's true gift lies in her ability to motivate. Her wisdom is second to none. When it comes to giving advice, Jen has more knowledge than most women twice her age and that is not an exaggeration. I actually began using her motivational techniques with my own clients. Jen is also self-sacrificing. She will always make time for her clients when they need her. She has sacrificed a lot of time for me personally in my quest to attain my goals in fitness competitions. I am grateful for her friendship and inspiration. After competing in several fitness shows and doing some fitness modeling I have decided to take a little break and focus on helping other women attain their fitness goals. I work with many women at Lakeshore Athletic Club in downtown Chicago. Many of these women are also struggling to attain a balance between work, children and working out. That is why I feel honored to be a part of the Phat Camp Team! I would highly encourage you to attend one of the Phat Camps as I know it will change your life, and what Jenny has to say just might surprise you! I hope to see all of you at the Chicago Phat Camp in May.

After watching Jen Hendershott in many Pro Fitness shows and seeing her guest perform at local shows around San Francisco, once I heard about her Phat Camps I knew it was my opportunity to bring her right to our door!!

With just her energy alone you want to soak some of it up for yourself...it's catching!! I didn't know exactly what to expect from her Phat Camp the first time but was amazed at how much useful info she shared for either the person just wanting to shape up or a seasoned athlete! It was wonderful to have her here and once a year just doesn't seem often enough so I'm greatly looking forward to Jen's 3rd visit to the Bay area and incorporating new info into my training program!! I've been doing her Phat Camp drills and with no doubt see a huge improvement in my physique compared to what I was doing. I run a Competition Team and I bring out expert guest speakers throughout the year and she's the one my girls beg to come back every year! And aside from the info she shares to achieve our best bodies, she also really cares about each and every one of us and it's as important to her we reach our fitness goals! She's a very genuine human being!!
Jen's Phat Camps are not to be missed!!

My name is Janet Frank Atkinson and I’m proud to host Phat Camp in Minneapolis, MN! If you’ve never been to a Phat Camp, let me assure you by saying that you’ll have an absolute blast!

My first Phat Camp was hosted by fellow Phat Camper, Michelle Naylon in Buffalo, 2004. I was training for my first figure comp at the time and was looking for seminars that would help me prepare for the competition. Somehow I stumbled upon information about Jen’s Phat Camp. I signed up for Buffalo and looked forward to meeting other fitness minded women. I was a little skeptical that getting so many women together would become a weekend full of cattiness, but it wasn’t like that at all. I remember Jen saying during the meet and greet session “I don’t want to hear any B.S. from you ladies. I’ve got enough drama in my life. We are here to learn, workout and have fun.”

The weekend was like summer camp for grown ups. I wasn’t sure how I was going to make it through a weekend of workouts, but it seemed like I just picked up so much energy from the group! There were ladies comprised of all levels of fitness – some who just started working out and wanted to learn from a pro, some who had a couple competitions under their belt and others who just enjoyed the gym. I left with a list of email addresses and the beginning of what I hope is long friendships with many fellow Phat Campers. My roommate, Melissa, even called me on the day of my show to wish me luck and give me some moral support. As I drove home after an exhausting, but rewarding weekend, I thought it would be nice to host a Phat Camp in the future. And after relocating to Minneapolis from Pittsburgh, PA over the past winter, I’m ecstatic that I can bring a Phat Camp to the Twin Cities

Michele Naylon
I would not be the person I am today without meeting Jen Hendershott and traveling through an ice storm all the way to Calgary to attend my first camp. At that point I was a long time yo-yo fitness enthusiast. I had about 10 years of weight-training under my belt, but by no means was I an expert. Having a gymnastic background, I was interested in competing in fitness but I needed some information and I was having a hard time finding it. I surfed the internet and found the 2002 Arnold Classic and had to go. Part of the weekend involved watching this phenomenal competitor from Columbus, who seemed to be a crowd favorite, that girl was Jen Hendershott. I was hooked at that point. I wanted to learn more about the industry.

Walking around the expo the following day I stumbled upon Jen's booth and I decided (I'm quite shy ya know!) to ask her about getting started. She was so approachable and cool! She mentioned that she was holding a fitness camp in about 4 weeks and could I go. I went. I learned so much in one weekend. I can't even begin to explain how great it was to be in a room surrounded by women who were serious about and shared the same enthusiasm for fitness that I did. Hooked again. I knew that there had to be women everywhere like me and that I had to get Jen to come to New York. Done deal. The following August I helped Jen plan another camp (over 40 women) and it was a huge success. I have been to many Phat Camps since then and I can honestly say that no two are alike. Phat Camps are diverse. The campers come from every walk of life and represent every age group. The outcome is always the same, women leave camp on Sunday feeling as though they know themselves better. They feel more confident about what they can do to train smarter and eat healthier. They gain friends and feel like they are a part of something special and most of all they have this wonderful women as a mentor and friend willing to reach out to answer questions or just listen.

I went from being a wannabe fitness enthusiast to a NPC national level figure competitor in and I just finished my third year of competing. I've gone from 24th place to 9th and every year I strive to improve my physique and set new goals for myself. I learned the fundamentals at Phat Camp and I will always be an advocate for what they offer and how they change lives. Thanks Jen!

My first camp was in Toronto at the 2004 Toronto Phat Camp. I was not the host at this camp but I had already known Jen for two years. Jenny knew I was going through some hard times and suffering from some bad bouts of anxiety. She told me to come to the Toronto camp and that’s when she helped my through the most difficult time in my like. The camp was PERFECT, just what I needed!

At my first camp I was told by Jen and Heather (Bear) to get this puppy I was contemplating on getting; well wouldn’t you know I went and looked at it. I ended up buying the puppy and it wasn’t till the way home that I looked at the breeders papers to find that they named the puppy (breeders name the puppies when they are born) “Shottzy” (HenderSHOTT)!! So I now have the wildest and craziest long haired Chihuahua that keeps me in stitches….just like Jen does…..so much character!!

I am glad to be the host of the Toronto Phat Camp because it is an inspiration to women of ALL fitness levels. And just like Rhoda Carpenter says “I need a Jen Fix!!!”. Jen’s camps shine light into the life of others, as well as mine. Jen touches the lives of the campers, and as a camp host I hope to help her change and become part of people’s lives because fitness and well-being is a passion of mine as well.

Jen Steal
It was Canadian Nationals 2001 when I first had the chance to meet Jenny Hendershott while she was doing a guest appearance/seminar at the show. I distinctly remember how in awe I was at the seminar when she sat and chatted with us all about her experiences in fitness and life in general. She was so up front and openly honest.I guess I was expecting a bigger ego due to her status as a successful pro competitor and one of my biggest fitness idols. It was then that it really became clear to me that the women in the magazines were also just "real " people and had struggles, hopes, dreams and fears just like everyone else. The next day after the show, I was mingling around taking pics with my friends when i heard a whisper in my ear "I LOVED your suit" it said "you looked amazing out there, I was rooting for you".....It was Jenny! WOW I thought, for her to make an effort to find me after the show to tell me that made such a huge impact! She didn't even know me at all! When I got back to Calgary after that show, I started thinking about the positive motivation I had received from Jenny at both the seminar and then from her personal feedback.... If only I could get her to come to Calgary and share all this incredible energy and beautiful honest spirit with all the women here! So I decided to email her and see about having her come up - why not I thought, it can't hurt to try right?!
To my surprise she emailed me back (though knowing her now, I am not surprised at all!).....and the rest is history. What started out back in the winter of 2002 as a tiny camp in a little gym here in Calgary has now turned into a huge yearly event in cities all over the world!

I am so proud to have been a part of starting this wonderful weekend event we now call PHAT camp. The lives it has touched, the friends I have made, and the amazing impact that has made on women from all walks of life is incredible to me! If you have been to a camp you can understand where I am coming form with this!

I can't say how grateful I am that Jenny took a chance on an unknown fitness chick like me, from way up north, and together we were able to do something very special. I would HIGHLY recommend this camp for ANY woman who is interested in meeting new friends, learning a whole lot about training, nutrition, building their own confidence and self esteem. You will come away with so much more than the training and diet advice, I promise you that!

I am anticipating another awesome Calgary camp and I invite you all to come (for the first time or again!!)
Hope to see you here in January!
